Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is the foundation for global health, yet it is absent in the majority of healthcare facilities in the developing world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 45% of healthcare facilities in Least Developed Countries lack basic water services and 21% have no sanitation services.

WEFTA partners with Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul International Project Services (DOC IPS) on various Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in healthcare facilities projects in Latin America and Africa.  An article written by our dear friend and partner, Sister Mary Louise (DOC IPS), shares the Vatican’s water initiative in health care facilities and highlights that an “investment in water truly is an investment in life.”
