In June, WEFTA volunteers, Patrick and John, were on-the-ground in Panama working with the community of Buena Vista to help organize community work groups and train the work groups on building break pressure tanks and transmission line repair. The volunteers also ensured the necessary materials for the transmission line repair project were ordered and confirmed the transportation of these materials.

A key role of WEFTA entails guiding communities in how to manage their systems to ensure they remain viable for the foreseeable future.

In the coming months, the community work groups will tackle the transmission line repairs, complete the break pressure tank under construction and complete an additional break pressure tank in the distribution system of the community.
