NMGIC Wheeler Peak Lifetime Achievement Award 2025
For more than ten years the Board of the New Mexico Geographic Information Council (NMGIC) has been honoring individuals that have served the geospatial community and the State of New Mexico to a degree well above and beyond the line of duty. Along with an award for outstanding achievement the Board developed an award for lifetime achievement in the industry.
In early May, John DiRuggiero was presented with the NMGIC Wheeler Peak Lifetime Achievement Award for 2025.
John has worked closely with WEFTA in various roles including volunteering his expertise for dashboard development of the SafeClinicToolkit to improve WASH and CASH in healthcare facilities in Ethiopia through collaborative efforts with our partners, Village Health Partnership (VHP).
In 2022, John joined the WEFTA staff as System Administrator where he continues to provide database management and dashboard development for internal and external project management, in addition to mapping and ArcGIS support for the team.
